MEDITATIONRelaxation is one of the key elements for maintaining a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Relaxation comes in many forms and has a different meaning for each of us. Whatever you choose to do for relaxation, make sure that it is something that allows your body and mind to rest and refresh. Relaxation is vital for the immune system to be able to make the necessary physical repairs to the wear and tear that stress causes during our busy daily schedules.
One of the most effective forms of relaxation is through meditation. Although there are different types of meditation, there is no one kind of meditation that is better than any other. The most important aspect of meditation is the continued daily practice. At Sanjevani Health & Lifestyle Center we teach a variety of types of meditation including mindfulness meditation, guided imagery, and breathing techniques. At Sanjevani Health & Lifestyle Center, Maureen Sutton, PSM Instructor, will teach you a form of meditation called Primordial Sound Meditation introduced by Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon of the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, California, which comes from the ancient Vedic traditions of India.
Meditation is an ancient method used to quiet the mind and allow one to reconnect with the bliss found in the silence. In the silence is born creativity and inspiration for daily living. Within the silence one can find connection to spirit. It is important to allow the mind to be still and listen to the primordial sounds of the universe, the rhythm and heartbeat of our own core being.
