At Sanjevani Health & Lifestyle Center, our approach to Yoga is drawn from the classic teachings of Hatha Yoga.  Hatha Yoga is an ancient science of purification that brings balance to the mind, body and spirit in order to achieve self-realization.  Through the practice of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), shatkarma (six purification processes), mudra (gestures), bandhas (control of energy flow) and visualization/meditation, one is able to clear toxins and improve the flow of vital energy throughout the energy channels creating clarity and balance.

 

Yoga is not just  a work out, but rather a work in.  At Sanjevani we focus on health and lifestyle changes.  Hatha Yoga is a health and lifestyle system which is relevant not only to ancient times but has been adapted to meet the demands of modern times.  Hatha Yoga is a style of yoga that everyone of any age can practice.

 

It has been well established that movement therapies, such a Yoga, promote additional health benefits for heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, immune function and relaxing and focusing the mind.

 

Sanjevani is proud to have Maureen Sutton, Registered Yoga Teacher, who emphasizes yoga as a way of life.  Maureen also teaches Primordial Sound Meditation.  Utilizing Maureen's knowledge of Ayurveda, Yoga and Massage in conjunction with Dr Pai's evaluation of your current health condition and individual needs, Sanjevani will customize a medical and health focused yoga regimen for you, one that will easily fit into your busy schedule.
