Yoga

Sanjevani is proud to have Maureen Sutton, Registered Yoga Teacher, who emphasizes yoga as a way of life.  For Maureen, yoga is a way of life.  She began practicing yoga at the age of 12 when she heard an inner voice inspire her to learn yoga, pranayama, meditation and become a vegetarian.  Maureen believes that the practice of yoga is a journey within, to discover your own inner self, your own personal boundaries, freedoms, strengths and weaknesses.

Sanjevani Health & Lifestyle Center's approach to Yoga is drawn from the classic teachings of Hatha Yoga.  Hatha Yoga is an ancient science of purification that brings balance to the mind, body and spirit in order to achieve self-realization.  Through the practice of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), shatkarma (six purification processes), mudra (gestures), bandhas (control of energy flow) and visualization/meditation, one is able to clear toxins and improve the flow of vital energy throughout the energy channels creating clarity and balance.

At Sanjevani we focus on health and lifestyle changes.  Hatha Yoga is a health and lifestyle system which is relevant not only to ancient times but has been adapted to meet the demands of modern times.  Hatha Yoga is a style of yoga that everyone of any age can practice.

Meditation

At Sanjevani Health & Lifestyle Center, Maureen Sutton, PSM Instructor, will teach you a form of meditation called Primordial Sound Meditation introduced by Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon of the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, California, which comes from the ancient Vedic traditions of India.
