Maureen Sutton is a nationally recognized spa director, massage therapy trainer and yoga teacher. Prior to joining Sanjevani, she worked as the Spa Director at the Chopra Center for six years. With her expert management and unique therapies, she led the Chopra Center to be awarded "Best Ayurvedic Spa" by Conde Naste.

She created, developed and trained the staff in delivering innovative signature spa treatments, such as Gandharva Therapy. She is a licensed massage therapist as well as a Reiki Master, specializing in Ayurvedic massage therapies. She has trained not only Chopra Center spa staff in San Diego, but also their affiliated properties. 

She has undertaken specialized training in Panchakarma and the preparation of Ayurvedic herbs and oils from the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda in India. She continues her training with Dr. Vasanth Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Dr. David Frawley at the American Institute of Vedic Studies in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is a certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Couselor. Maureen is a certified Primordial Sound Meditation Instructor and is also certified in Plant-Based Nutrition by Cornell University and the T. Colin Campbell Foundation.

To further round out her training in Ayurveda, she has been internationally certified to teach yoga from the YogaLife Foundation (recognized by the Yoga Alliance) under the direction of Sanjeev Bhanot in Dharmashala, India.   Maureen has been practicing yoga since the age of 12 and has learned  from a variety of schools of yoga which she incorporates into her own style and encourages each individual to develop their own inner style of yoga.

Prior to her position with the Chopra Center, Maureen was Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Brisbane International Airport in Brisbane, Australia as well as Administrative Assistant to the CFO. 

Maureen lived, worked, studied and traveled around the world in places such as Spain (where she attended the University of Barcelona and studied Spanish Linguistics), Europe, the Middle East (worked as an architectural draftswoman), Australia (resided for 13 years, worked in the travel industry and raised her two children) and Asia bringing with her the wealth of life and cultural knowledge from her experiences abroad.
