Acupuncture is one of the main forms of treatment in traditional Chinese medicine. It involves the use of small, painless thin needles that are inserted into the body at very specific points. This process is believed to adjust and alter the body's energy flow into healthy patterns, and is used to treat a wide variety of illnesses and health conditions.
In the United States, most Doctors of Oriental Medicine (DOM) and L.Ac (Licensed Acupuncturists) are not trained in Scalp Acupuncture, although they may place needles on the scalp. Most patients experience a faster and more favorable response when receiving Scalp Acupuncture and Medical Acupuncture versus standard Acupuncture alone.
